What sort of insurance cover do you offer?

Parcel Monkey offer extended liability as opposed to insurance on a variety of our courier services. We give customers who book parcel delivery on our website the opportunity to extend the liability for their items they want to have delivered via courier.

We offer £20 of free cover for Parcel Monkey, DHL, DX, UK Mail, Tuffnells and DPD deliveries and £60 for Parcelforce.

Although the terms and conditions take precedence over any information presented here (as those are written by legal people and reviewed regularly), some information can be provided to make you aware of some things to consider before you book.

1. What circumstances a carrier, its agents or contractors become liable;
    
2. When choosing the level of cover required what level is appropriate;
    
3. Collection and delivery dates cannot be guaranteed;
    
4. How long after a suggested delivery date your parcel was due to arrive and it does before any liability can be established;
    
5. How suitable and secure your packaging is, have you taken reasonable steps to protect your items and how does this effect liability;
    
6. Do you have or will you have all the paperwork and 'evidence'?
    
7. We do have a helpful (but not definitive) list of prohibited items that you should review and understand before booking;
    
8. There are certain time periods for making claims, you should again familiarise yourself with the terms and conditions if you would like to make a claim for loss, theft or damage, or for any other reason specified in those terms;
    
9. Consider the ownership of any item under a claim and its subsequent ownership after the claim process has been completed;

But how much does it cost?

You will get a certain amount of extended liability for free depending on which services you book, however, you do have the opportunity to upgrade. Prices vary and may change in the future, but £200 of cover would cost £2.49

You can add extended liability up to the value of £1000 on most of our services, however, Parcelforce Next Day by 12 pm can be extended up to the value of £2500 due to the reliability of the service and our great working relationship with them as a courier. 

You might find some other parcel comparison services have cheap prices, but our extended liability will give you the better value for money. It is imperative that you check your item is not prohibited, not restricted and is packaged correctly if you wish to make use of our extended liability. It is 100% worth the time of packaging your items correctly to mainly ensure your package arrives safely but also to help process your claim should there be any issue caused by a courier.
