Bordering Finland, Norway and Denmark across the Øresund Sweden is a popular destination for our customers to send parcels to, as despite being the third largest country in the EU area, it only has a population the size of London. Unlike Norway, Sweden has more of a mixed economy which is somewhat dependent on its iron ore, hydropower and timber industries and is heavily dependent on foreign trade.
The cheapest way to send a parcel to Sweden is via Parcelforce* and it is cheaper still if you drop it off. You can drop your parcel at one of the 10,000 Post Offices around the UK. This suits many of our customers as this is the way they have always sent parcels before, but it is much cheaper to pre-book the parcel online via our quote engine.
The other option is to book a collection and a courier will come to collect the parcel from your home or work address, which for many customers is more convenient. When you use Parcelforce to deliver a parcel to Sweden, it will arrive in just 3-5 working days depending on how remote the delivery address is, but as the majority of people live in urban areas, transit times are normally quick.
*Please note that parcels sent to Sweden with Parcelforce, which are bound for a private (home) address, won't be delivered directly to the recipient's door. They will be held on arrival to Sweden and the recipient will be contacted to collect the parcel from a convenient pick-up point. Please ensure you provide up to date contact information for the recipient so the courier can arrange collection.
DPD has two service levels to Sweden, plus you can also book a collection or a drop-off and take your parcel to the local DPD Pickup Shop. The two service levels are Express which takes just 2 working days to arrive in Sweden or the cheaper Classic service that takes 4-5 days to arrive.
DHL is another premium express courier and the Air Express service arrives generally to major destinations the Next Working Day. If you prefer to use a courier who transports by Road, maybe for heavier items - then DHL by Road gets a parcel delivered to Sweden in 3 days.

From January 1st, 2021 you will need to provide a customs declaration when you send a parcel to Sweden from the UK. This is due to Brexit and the UK no longer being part of the EU.

Parcel monkey offered a range of delivery services at good prices. However, the service I chose from UPS has failed miserably to deliver the package within the timeframe advertised. This might not be directly Parcel Monkey’s fault but there doesn’t appear to be any contact maintained between the customer the them to ensure delivery success within the agreement paid for. The only option is this feedback process. So, I’m still waiting on my parcel being delivered a full three days after the maximum days stated originally. I doubt I’ll use them again.
