Can I send power tools and other DIY equipment via a courier?

The first port of call when you're trying to find out if you're able to send a particular item via a courier is to check out our prohibited and non-compensation items list. The second thing you'll need to do is read through and understand our terms and conditions to make sure nothing is clear - as these restrictions can change based on the requirements of the parcel delivery companies.

The eagle-eyed amongst you would have spotted the word "batteries" in the list of prohibited items, so if you've got any battery-powered tools then unfortunately we won't be able to courier those on your behalf.

Do you have any advice about packaging or anything else?

The important thing to consider is that 'power tools' is very broad term that can include a wide variety of instruments such as: Circular saws, angle grinders, routers, sanders, screwdrivers, bench tools, drills, multi-function tools, saws, planners, heat guns, sprayers, strippers & sanders. 

With such a wide range of items that could be considered as "Dangerous goods" or contain "fluid" or "liquid" then it'd be wise to contact us before you send any of these items.

But why not batteries?

We understand that there are so many different types of batteries but it's safer for other users fo the courier networks that batteries aren't shipped as they can cause damage other parcels near them.
