How much does it cost to send a wedding dress by courier?

If you're looking to sell your wedding dress on an auction website such as eBay, or other marketplaces such as Preloved, there will be a number of things to think about when it comes to shipping it. When working out how much it is to post a wedding dress, think about how quickly the parcel needs to arrive or if the parcel is not time sensitive, choose a cheap parcel delivery on an economy time frame.

• Read the terms and conditions of shipping. Make sure you understand what levels of compensation you have, how long you have to make a claim, what you and your customer's responsibilities are and what level of carriage guarantee you can take out.

How much does a wedding dress weigh?

Make sure you've got a realistic weight when sending the package and that it is weighed and measured once it is prepared to send to ensure the dimensions are accurate. Couriers use volumetric weight to calculate the shipping charge, but our simple quote engine does hard bit for you as long as you provide the correct dimensions and weight of the parcel.

Most bathroom scales will be suitable for placing a packaged wedding dress on and still see the numbers. The general weight bands for parcels are fairly widely spaced so don't be afraid to add extra packaging. You could even play around adding an extra half kilo or two and see how much the dress costs to send if you do decide to add extra packaging.
