The Republic of Suriname is located on the Atlantic coast of South America sandwiched between Guyana and French Guiana and Brazil to the south and has a rich Dutch and English heritage. It was a Kingdom of the Netherlands until 1975 when it became an independent country and remains the only independent nation in the region where Dutch is the official language.
It was the exploitation of its natural resources in the form of bauxite and oil that has greatly aided economic expansion in recent years although there is some pressure to make more economic use of the 80% of the country that is covered in rain forest.
Here are some examples of prices to send a parcel to Suriname. We have many options, so for a personalised quote please enter the weight of your item into the quote box below.
Like its neighbouring countries, we can typically deliver in four to six full days from the date of collection to Suriname. DHL Air Express may be able to deliver in three full days, but that depends on the date of collection and how that fits with the international shipping timetable.
If you are looking for a better value Express option, then we offer our own brand Air Express product which delivers in 4-6 days. If shipping parcels to the capital Paramaribo is arranged via an Express service the goods will more likely arrive a little quicker than shipping to a remote area. This service is the best value as it a lot cheaper than DHL, but only takes a day or two longer. In addition to this it is cheaper than the slower Asendia service that we also have available for shipping items to Suriname.
Whenever you send items outside of the European Union, you have to be extra careful that they are compliant with the local customs regime of the country you are sending them into. Those local restrictions are liable to change and hence it is essential that you are aware of and comply with the local rules. You should, therefore, contact the De Belastingdienst Suriname for their latest guidance.
An indicative, but not necessarily accurate or current list of items you should be aware of sending include electrical appliances and items less than six months old as these may require invoices or receipts to accompany the items. You should also not send foodstuffs, drugs or firearms and the like - those items are included in our prohibited items list that you should also read, understand and comply with. You will be offered this during the early stages of the booking process.

Good service and easy to use the website, but be warned if you dont give accurate measurements for your item they will charge your card afterwards-my item was 200g over and I was charged a full kilo extra so just be aware of this.

More and more I had labels not clear, my postage happens on Fridays 5 pm and I end up having to wait til Monday, missing my Etsy cut off for my orders tracking notes. This error message started causing me to lose credibility points with my customers and Etsy score. The time I post, is due to a series of factors and I do not see why its so hard to have labels instantly or reply until 8pm if the MonkeyParcel service is open until 8pm. When I asked what I can do different to avoid the labels not generating, I get no reply. I mainly used UPS via Parcel monkey, my impression in the past was that they have a solid reliability. This week i spent 3 days waiting in from 8-6 for UPS to come and collect a parcel to was too large to drop off with my usual shop, according to them. Not showing up, giving me full day pick up windows, in this day and age of tech and precision it’s just not ok. I now booked RM via a different broker and they gave me the morning off from window staring, having a 4 hour afternoon slot, which is great because, I am in desperate need to get to the supermarket after being stuck at home for all those days. I think my case is made that my loyalty has run thin and I am changing providers.
