Togo is a former French colony which actually is called the Togolese Republic and is a long, thin country in West Africa bordered by Ghana, Benin and Burkina Faso.
Despite governmental efforts the Togolese economy is still struggling. Unlike Benin, however, the economy isn't dependent on any one industry or crop. The most important commodity in terms of exports is that of cocoa beans which account for about a fifth or total revenues.
Because the economy is still considerably under-developed there isn't a huge amount of cross-border trade.
