Costa Rica is a country in Central America where its eastern coast borders the Caribbean Sea and its western slopes into the Pacific Ocean - which may explain the derivation of the country's name in Spanish: Rich Coast. Furthermore Nicaragua is to the north and Panama to the south meaning that this is a very historic and vibrant part of the world and is actually the twenty third oldest democracies in the world. Another interesting fact is that Costa Rica abolished its army in 1949 - the budget for which was transferred to security, education and culture.
Here are some examples of prices to send a parcel to Costa Rica. We have many options, so for a personalised quote please enter the weight of your item into the quote box below.
In terms of prices to send a parcel to Costa Rica, they are much the same as The Bahamas. To book an international courier to Costa Rica a 1kg parcel would cost in the region of £33 if you choose our own brand Air Express service which is delivered in just 3-4 days. We also offer Asendia but at a slightly higher cost of over £34 and a slower transit time, for this destination we would advise the popular and premium Parcel Monkey Air Express. This service is actually just a day slower than DHL Air Express, which we also offer but is far cheaper.
For something more heavy you can send a 10kg parcel from Under £67 at the time of writing again via our Air Express and 20kg just, £103. When you compare that to the £275 DHL Air Express want (at a discounted rate on our site as well) you can see why Parcel Monkey Air Express is the choice of many shippers who send parcels to San José and the rest of Costa Rica.
Parcel Monkey Air Express is collected in the UK, generally by Parcelforce, is shipped out via Freight Forwarder and the delivered in country by DHL, plus it comes with full tracking. The only thing to consider is the one day more in transit time. DHL offer delivery to Costa Rica in 2-3 days.

The delivery worked which was good news, unfortunately we were not aware of the extreme import duties in Costa Rica which were 50% on top of the value of the goods we sent, and this had to be paid to DHL before delivery was completed.
I am happy with the speed of the delivery but unhappy with the fact that the shipment I sent was not delivered straight to the person
Collected and delivered on time. Good tracking and all good.
Great to compare different couriers
It took 2 attempts to collect when a phone call or email with a 2 hour time slot could have prevented it, The first collection failed when I had stayed in all day only to nip out at 14.50 to school and returned 15.12 to find the collection agent had been at 15.02
Service is always really good. My parcel is due to arrive this week I think.
