The Republic of the Union of Myanmar is a country that was formerly known as Burma and is located in South East Asia and borders India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Laos and China and has a population similar to that of the UK at around 52 million.
In 1989 the ruling military government did away with many of the English colonial traditions and cultures and part of this was the renaming of the country to Myanmar, which had a closer resemblance to the proper name of the local ethnic group, whilst 'Burma' was more related to the colloquial name of the race.
As can be seen, Myanmar and previously Burma has had a rich, varied and troubled history but with the recent changes in its politics and a newly elected government this previously undiscovered destination is growing as a tourist destination and this, in turn, means the number of goods imported is on the rise, with more and more people looking for cheap parcel delivery to this fascinating country.
