The Republic of Rwanda is a relatively small nation in East Africa surrounded by the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda and during 100 days in 1994 it was the focus of the world as 500,000 people were mascaraed during the Hutu-led genocide against the Tutsi population. This period had a dramatic impact on society, infrastructure and the local economy. Just like Chad the country is heavily dependent on subsistence farming, but suffers from even fewer natural resources to exploit for their economic benefits which, in turn, has an impact on international trade and the levels of international parcel delivery, both into, and out of the country.
If you wanted to send a parcel to Rwanda the prices you can expect to pay are commensurate with other nations in the region at £28.29 (correct at 14/06/13) for a 1kg parcel with our own express international service or £59.95 for DHL Air Express. If speed is of the essence you can expect your parcel to arrive two to four full days after the date of collection.
Since 2010 Rwanda has seen a significant increase in economic performance with GDP growth rates accelerating, inflation falling and exports growing rapidly - despite the worldwide financial issues.
Of course, there will be import restrictions laid down by the Rwandan government. You can find information relating to those here. It is unlikely that counterfeit money, pornography, flammable items and the like will ever be removed from their list, but other items may either be removed or included. It is, therefore, important that you refer to the list (pdf) or any document that supersedes it before you send any parcel to Rwanda in the future. Furthermore, you should read and understand this page which details their customs processes and procedures.

I sent the parcel to Rwanda but did not expect it to be delivered for weeks. I use to use the post office, thats why. Not only did they take their time about it, they opened the parcels then charged the recipient on the other end, even for a book (thats corruption for you). I will always use Parcel Monkey from now on! Their price is competitive as well. Thank you!
Really pleased. Ive sent 2 boxes separately and they have arrived in the promised time frame. Everything perfect really. Thank you Parcel Monkey :)
Excellent service - all the way from London to an obscure location in Rwanda!
This is my first time sending a large parcel to Africa,I was very pleased to have all the advice and guidance about the process.
The ordering, price and pick up was fine. There was no mention that the recipient in France would have to pay €15 for the package to be delivered with no reason stated. The parcel had not been opened by the French authorities. The contents of the package was well within the declared weight and size. The contents value was accurately described and valued and within the value limits, all accurately declared on the export form that was clearly attached to the parcel. The contents were redirected mail and childrens clothes. I still do not know why the delivery charge was made.
Simple worked 24 hours later delivered
You have regularly shipped parcels to my daughter in China. Always delivered on time and intact. Good documentation too. Thanks.
Easy to use with great prices. Parcel Monkey was a gem of a find.
